The 6 Best Camping Pillows

The Klymit Luxe is made from X-shaped air bladder with a quilted synthetic polyester cover and it weighs around 6.4 ounces.

It’s quite durable and comfortable –especially for back sleepers that need a softer medium.

And while it’s not insulated, its cover still provided enough coolness and softness.

Pros

Cons

Bottom line

The Klymit Luxe comes very close in size to a standard bed pillow so it’s quite large and comfortable.

It also combines well between affordability, portability, and support –so it’s easily the best inflatable camping pillow.

This affordable pillow features a synthetic fiberfill in a polyester shell and a brushed flannel pillowcase.

It does indeed pack the largest size and weight on the list, but it’s the best car-camping pillow option.

Not only because of its big size but also its 10-ounce weight, which is considered heavy among camping pillows.

The big size gives you plenty of resting area and the flannel case is soft against the skin.

One downside, however, the fill material can gather in some areas and give it a lumpy feeling with time.

Moreover, there isn’t much sliding around on the sleeping pad as it fills the hood space well. Its flannel pillowcase is also removable and machine-washable.

Pros

Cons

Bottom line

The Teton Sports XL is a great camping pillow for side sleepers as its fill is of adequate height. I restricted the use a little bit as I think its size is a little too big for backpacking.

The Rumpl Stuffable Fleece is more or less an enclosed pouch with a zipper entry on one side.

It leaves it up to the user to either fill it with clothes or leave it empty to be packed more easily without taking space.

That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some synthetic padding to even out the various items inside.

The Rumpl Stuffable Fleece is one of the lighter pillow choices on the list as it weighs only 4.9 ounces.

It easily pairs with any bag save for the tighter-hooded mummy ones. Its cover can be washed easily in a washer and dryer.

Moreover, the minimal padding makes it super compressible and allows you to pack tightly.

Bottom line

The Rumpl Stuffable Fleece sure is one of the lighter pillows on the list that packs well, it’s an amazing travel pillow for camping.
